Speed and torque across supply voltages
The SH31001P01A1100: This SH3 servo motor delivers a nominal speed of 5000 rpm when fed from a 400 V three-phase supply, and reaches 6000 rpm at 480 V three-phase. On single-phase 115 V or 230 V, the nominal speed drops to 1250 rpm or 2500 rpm respectively. Nominal torque is voltage-dependent: 25.76 lbf·in (2.91 N·m) at 115 V single-phase, 23.37 lbf·in (2.64 N·m) at 230 V single-phase, and 20.09 lbf·in (2.27 N·m) at both 400 V and 480 V three-phase. The continuous stall torque across the three-phase range is 26.02 lbf·in (2.94 N·m). Peak stall torque reaches 85.0 lbf·in (9.6 N·m) on a 115...480 V three-phase supply, giving a roughly 3.3× torque margin over the continuous stall rating for short-duration acceleration or overload events.
Power output and thermal limits
Nominal output power scales with the supply: 410 W at 115 V single-phase, 790 W at 230 V single-phase, 1410 W at 400 V three-phase, and 1630 W at 480 V three-phase. Continuous power is listed at 1190 W, which aligns with the three-phase ratings under continuous duty. The motor is cooled by natural convection (no external fan), so the continuous ratings assume free airflow around the IP65-rated housing. The copper winding hot-spot temperature is rated to 266 °F (130 °C). Stator resistance is 3.8 Ω and inductance is 9.5 mH; the torque constant is 0.84 N·m/A at 248 °F (120 °C), and the back-EMF constant is 60 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C). These values define the drive tuning parameters — the current loop gains and the velocity feed-forward.
Encoder feedback and mechanical interface
The encoder is an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface type — it provides position at power-up without a homing sequence, and the sinusoidal signals allow high-resolution interpolation in the drive. This suits applications where the axis must know its position immediately after a power cycle. The motor mounts on an international standard flange with a 3.9 in (100 mm) flange size, a 3.7 in (95 mm) centring collar diameter, and a 0.1 in (3.5 mm) centring collar depth. Four mounting holes of 0.4 in (9.0 mm) diameter secure it. The smooth shaft is 0.7 in (19 mm) diameter by 1.6 in (40 mm) long.
Current ratings and electrical connection
Continuous stall current is 3.5 A, while the maximum continuous RMS current is 12.0 A. The 3-second peak output current is also 12.0 A — this is the current limit the drive must enforce during acceleration or overload to protect the windings. The electrical connection is a straight connector, which simplifies cable routing in tight cabinets. The motor is a 4-pole design, and the IP65 rating covers both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5, so it withstands washdown environments.
