Speed-torque envelope across supply voltages
The SH31001P02A2200: This SH3 frame motor delivers a nominal speed of 5000 rpm at 480 V three-phase, dropping to 2500 rpm at 230 V single-phase and 1250 rpm at 115 V single-phase — the drive supply voltage directly sets the velocity ceiling. Nominal torque varies with supply: 2.91 Nm at 115 V single-phase, 2.64 Nm at 230 V single-phase, and 2.27 Nm at both 400 V and 480 V three-phase. The torque constant is 0.84 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, giving a predictable current-to-torque ratio for the drive tuning. Peak stall torque reaches 9.6 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range, while continuous stall torque is 2.94 Nm — the 3.3:1 peak-to-continuous ratio supports aggressive acceleration profiles without oversizing the drive.
Encoder and feedback — drive pairing constraints
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback without a home cycle on power-up — the drive must support the Hiperface protocol. Back EMF constant is 60 V/krpm at 20 °C — the drive's DC bus voltage must accommodate the generated voltage at maximum speed to avoid overvoltage trips during deceleration.
Mounting and mechanical integration
International standard flange with 100 mm flange size and 95 mm centring collar diameter — mounts to standard IEC metric flange patterns. The 3.5 mm centring collar depth aligns the rotor concentricity within 0.1 mm typical. Smooth shaft, 19 mm diameter, 40 mm shaft length — no keyway, so the coupling must transmit torque through a clamping or friction fit. Maximum radial force is 900 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 530 N at 5000 rpm; maximum axial force is 160 N. Electrical connection via straight or rotatable right-angle connector — the rotatable option helps route the cable in tight cabinet layouts without bending the connector body.
Environmental sealing and cooling
IP65 motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 housing per IEC 60034-5 — the motor withstands washdown and dust ingress. The IP67 housing rating exceeds the IP65 body, meaning the connector and rear housing seal are the stronger link. Natural convection cooling — no external fan or coolant required. The 1190 W continuous power rating assumes free air circulation; derate if enclosed in a non-ventilated cavity.
Electrical parameters for drive tuning
Stator resistance 3.8 Ohm and inductance 9.5 mH — these values set the current-loop bandwidth limits and the L/R time constant for the drive's PI tuning. The 4-pole motor design gives a base electrical frequency of 166.7 Hz at 5000 rpm. Continuous stall current 3.5 A, with a 3-second peak of 12.0 A — the drive must supply 12 A for acceleration without tripping on overcurrent. The 12 A peak also sets the minimum drive continuous rating to avoid I²t overload.
Sourcing and lifecycle — current production
No holding brake on this variant — if the application requires a brake for vertical-axis holding or emergency stop, a separate brake motor or external brake resistor circuit must be added.
