Supply voltage and speed envelope
The SH31001P0AA4000: This SH3-series servo motor delivers different speed and torque depending on the supply. At 230 V single-phase it produces 2500 rpm and 2.64 N.m nominal torque; at 400 V three-phase it reaches 5000 rpm with 2.27 N.m; at 480 V three-phase it runs 6000 rpm at the same 2.27 N.m. The nominal output power is 690 W on single-phase and 1190 W on three-phase supplies. The continuous stall torque is 2.94 N.m across the 115-480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall current of 3.5 A. For short-duration acceleration, the peak stall torque reaches 9.6 N.m at 12.0 A peak current.
Encoder and feedback — absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL
The motor carries an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder. Single-turn means it tracks position within one revolution without needing a battery-backed multi-turn count — power-cycle position is known within the first turn. The DSL (Digital Serial Link) protocol runs over a two-wire interface, sharing power and data on the same pair, which simplifies the feedback cable to four wires total (power + DSL pair).
Mechanical interface and mounting
The motor flange is 100 mm (3.9 in) with a 95 mm centring collar and 3.5 mm collar depth. Four mounting holes at 9.0 mm diameter on the standard international flange pattern. The shaft is 19 mm diameter, 40 mm long, smooth (no keyway) — requires a clamping-type coupling or friction hub. Maximum radial force is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 300 N.
Environmental protection and cooling
The motor body is rated IP65 per IEC 60034-5, meaning dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. The shaft bushing without the shaft seal ring is rated IP54 — if the application requires IP65 at the shaft exit, an optional shaft seal ring must be fitted. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan or forced air required, but the motor relies on its own surface area and mounting flange for heat dissipation.
Electrical parameters and connection
Stator resistance is 3.8 Ohm and stator inductance is 19 mH. The torque constant is 0.84 N.m/A at 120°C copper temperature; the back EMF constant is 60 V/krpm at 20°C. The motor has 4 poles. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector with quicklock — the cable exit orientation can be adjusted after installation, which helps in tight cable-tray routing.
