1190 W continuous, 2500 rpm — SH3 servo with holding brake
The SH31001P1AF3100 is a Schneider Electric SH3 series servo motor with a holding brake, delivering 1190 W continuous power at 400 V three-phase and 690 W at 230 V single-phase. Nominal speed is 2500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 5000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 6000 rpm at 480 V three-phase — the speed ceiling depends on the supply voltage and the drive's DC bus. The integrated holding brake provides 9 N.m (79.7 lbf.in) holding torque, enough to lock the vertical axis on a pick-and-place gantry when power is removed. Brake pull-in power is 12 W.
Torque curves and thermal limits — natural convection, IP65
Continuous stall torque is 2.94 N.m (26.02 lbf.in) across the 115...480 V three-phase range. Peak stall torque reaches 9.6 N.m (85.0 lbf.in) at 115...480 V three-phase — this is the torque available for acceleration during short-duration moves, limited by the drive's peak current capability. Nominal torque varies with supply: 2.64 N.m (23.37 lbf.in) at 230 V single-phase, 2.27 N.m (20.09 lbf.in) at 400 V three-phase and 480 V three-phase. The torque constant is 0.84 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature; the back EMF constant is 60 V/krpm at 20 °C. Cooling is natural convection — no external fan, so the motor relies on its own surface area and the mounting flange to dissipate heat.
Mounting and mechanical interface — 100 mm flange, parallel key shaft
The motor mounts to an international standard flange with a 100 mm (3.9 in) flange size. Centring collar diameter is 95 mm (3.7 in) with a 3.5 mm (0.1 in) depth; four mounting holes of 9.0 mm (0.4 in) diameter on the flange face secure it to the machine frame. The shaft is 19 mm (0.7 in) diameter, 40 mm (1.6 in) long, with a parallel key and a 6 mm (0.2 in) key width. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 1340 N at 3000 rpm, 1530 N at 2000 rpm, and 1930 N at 1000 rpm; maximum axial force is 300 N. These limits govern the allowable belt tension or direct coupling load. Electrical connection is via a quicklock straight connector — a push-in, turn-to-lock circular connector that mates without tools, reducing installation time on the line.
Electrical parameters and drive matching
Stator resistance is 3.8 Ohm and stator inductance is 19 mH — these values set the electrical time constant and influence the current-loop tuning in the servo drive. Maximum RMS current is 12 A, which the drive must be able to supply continuously for the motor to reach its rated torque. The copper winding hot-spot temperature is rated at 130 °C (266 °F) — the thermal model in the drive must respect this limit to avoid winding damage during overload cycles.
The SH3 series is the active family; the sizing reference SH31001P identifies the motor's power and flange size within the range.
