Three-phase servo motor with holding brake — SH3 series
The SH31001P1AF4100 is a three-phase servo motor from Schneider Electric's SH3 series, built with an integrated holding brake and an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder for closed-loop position feedback. Continuous power is 1190 W at 400 V or 480 V three-phase supply, with nominal torque of 2.27 N.m at those voltages; at 230 V single-phase the output drops to 690 W and 2.64 N.m.
Speed and torque across supply voltages
Nominal speed varies with the supply: 2500 rpm at 230 V single phase, 5000 rpm at 400 V three phase, and 6000 rpm at 480 V three phase — the motor's speed ceiling is voltage-dependent, so matching the drive supply to the target speed range is essential. Peak stall torque is 9.6 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and continuous stall torque is 2.94 N.m — the brake's holding torque of 9 N.m exceeds the continuous stall figure, meaning the brake can hold the load at rest even under full rated torque. The motor uses natural convection cooling (no fan), so the continuous torque ratings assume free airflow around the 100 mm flange-mount frame.
IP65 enclosure and connector interface
IP65 protection on both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5 — suitable for washdown or dusty environments, though the rotatable right-angle connector (quick-lock type) should be properly torqued to maintain the seal. The 19 mm shaft with a parallel key and 40 mm shaft length drives the load; maximum radial force at 1000 rpm is 1930 N, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm — bearing life depends on staying within these radial limits at the operating speed.
