100 mm flange, 4-pole, with holding brake
The SH31002P11F1200 is a 100 mm flange-size servo motor from the SH3 series, a 4-pole three-phase design with an integral holding brake. The brake delivers 9 N.m holding torque — enough to hold a vertical axis load at rest without a separate mechanical brake, simplifying the safety chain for a pick-and-place or gantry application. Rated continuous power is 1900 W, but the usable torque and speed depend on the supply voltage. At 400 V three-phase the nominal speed is 4000 rpm with 4.6 N.m nominal torque; at 480 V three-phase it reaches 4800 rpm with 4.4 N.m. The peak stall torque is 18.3 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, giving the headroom for acceleration transients.
Encoder, IP rating, and electrical connection
The feedback device is an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder — a standard interface for drive-based commutation and position control. No external battery backup is needed for the single-turn position on power-up, which simplifies the cabling and reduces a maintenance point. IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing — both per IEC 60034-5. The shaft bushing seal is the wet-end barrier; the housing seal protects the stator windings from washdown. This motor is suitable for food-and-beverage or washdown zones where a standard IP54 servo would accumulate moisture ingress over time. Two electrical connection options are listed: a rotatable right-angled connector and a straight connector. The rotatable version is useful when the cable exit direction must be adjusted on-site to clear a panel wall or cable tray without adding a right-angle adapter.
Mechanical interface and mounting
The motor mounts via an international standard flange (100 mm), with four 9.0 mm mounting holes and a 3.5 mm centring collar depth. The shaft is 19 mm diameter with a parallel key, 40 mm shaft length. Overall motor length is 234.5 mm — this is the body-only dimension; the connector adds to the installed length. Natural convection cooling — no external fan or forced-air duct required. The thermal limit is set by the copper hot-spot temperature of 130 °C. The stator inductance is 6.75 mH and resistance is 2.4 Ohm, which sets the electrical time constant and influences the current-loop tuning at the drive. Maximum radial force at the shaft is derated with speed: 990 N at 1000 rpm, 620 N at 4000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 160 N. These limits govern the permissible belt tension or direct-coupling overhung load — exceeding them shortens bearing life.
