Speed, torque, and power depend on supply voltage
The SH31002P1BA4000: Rated speed is 2000 rpm on 230 V single-phase, 4000 rpm on 400 V three-phase, and 4800 rpm on 480 V three-phase. Nominal torque drops from 5.2 N·m at 230 V to 4.4 N·m at 480 V, while continuous power stays at 1930 W for both 400 V and 480 V three-phase supplies. Match the drive's voltage class to the motor's rated speed — running a 400 V motor on 480 V pushes the speed beyond the mechanical limit unless the drive limits it.
Encoder feedback — absolute multiturn Hiperface DSL
The absolute multiturn Hiperface DSL encoder eliminates the need for a home cycle on power-up — the position is known immediately. This saves time on multi-axis machines where homing would otherwise require coordinated motion. The DSL protocol runs over a single cable pair, reducing wiring complexity compared to EnDat or BiSS with separate clock/data lines.
IP65 motor body, but watch the shaft bushing
However, the shaft bushing without a shaft seal ring is only IP54. If the application sees direct spray on the shaft exit, add an external shaft seal or position the motor so the shaft end is shielded.
Radial and axial load limits at speed
Maximum radial force Fr is 2660 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 1840 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force Fa is 300 N. These limits govern bearing life — a belt drive or overhung load must be sized so the resultant radial force stays below the curve at the operating speed. The shaft diameter is 19 mm with a parallel key (6 mm key width, 40 mm shaft length).
