Motor ratings and supply voltage dependency
The SH31003M02A1000 is a three-phase servo motor from the SH3 series, delivering 1500 W continuous power. Its nominal speed and torque shift with the supply voltage: at 400 V three-phase it produces 7 N.m at 2000 rpm, while at 480 V three-phase it delivers 6.76 N.m at 2400 rpm. On single-phase 230 V the same motor runs at 1000 rpm with 7.5 N.m. Peak stall torque reaches 28.3 N.m across the 115...480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall torque of 8 N.m at 3.4 A continuous stall current. The torque constant is 2.35 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature.
Encoder and feedback for position loops
This motor carries an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder — the multiturn count tracks shaft revolutions even after power loss, so the drive knows the absolute position on re-energisation without a homing move. The SinCos analog tracks give fine interpolation for high-resolution velocity and position loops. Back EMF constant is 148 V/krpm at 20 °C, which sets the voltage ceiling the drive must handle at high speed. Stator resistance is 5.3 Ohm and inductance is 17.4 mH — these values matter for the drive's current-loop tuning and for estimating I²R losses at the 14.7 A peak current.
Mounting, shaft, and environmental sealing
IP rating depends on the shaft bushing configuration: IP54 with the shaft bushing without seal ring, or IP65 with the shaft bushing or the motor itself when fitted with the seal ring. The electrical connection is a straight connector. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan, so the motor relies on the machine frame or ambient airflow for heat rejection.
