1500 W continuous, torque varies by supply
The SH31003M02A1100 is a Schneider Electric SH3 servo motor delivering 1500 W continuous power from a three-phase supply, with nominal torque that depends on the line voltage: 7.8 Nm at 400 V three-phase, dropping to 6.76 Nm at 480 V three-phase, and 7.5 Nm on 230 V single-phase or 7.0 Nm on 400 V three-phase. Nominal speed also shifts with voltage — 2000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, 2400 rpm at 480 V three-phase, 1000 rpm on 115 V single-phase. The torque constant is 2.35 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 148 V/krpm at 20 °C — these anchor the drive tuning parameters for the current loop and velocity feedforward.
Absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface feedback
The encoder is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface type. This provides position feedback without a home cycle on power-up, and the SinCos analog tracks give the drive fine interpolation for low-speed ripple rejection — relevant for contouring moves where the axis must hold the micron.
IP65, natural convection, no brake
Both the motor body and the shaft bushing are rated IP65 per IEC 60034-5 — suitable for washdown environments where coolant mist or spray is present. Cooling is by natural convection only, so no external fan needs power or ducting, but the thermal budget is limited to the continuous stall torque of 8 Nm at 3.4 A continuous stall current. This variant ships without a holding brake. If the vertical axis or safety circuit requires a brake, the SH3 family includes braked versions — the mechanical flange and shaft dimensions are the same, so swapping to a braked motor does not change the coupling or mounting interface. Peak stall torque is 28.3 Nm at 14.7 A for 3 seconds — this is the acceleration ceiling for short moves. The maximum radial force at the shaft is 1050 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 660 N at 4000 rpm; the maximum axial force is 160 N.
Mechanical fit — 100 mm flange, smooth shaft
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 100 mm flange size. The centring collar diameter is 95 mm with a 3.5 mm depth, and the mounting hole circle uses 9.0 mm diameter holes. Overall length is 240.5 mm. The shaft is smooth (no keyway), 19 mm diameter, 40 mm long, with a 6 mm key width. The smooth shaft means the coupling bore must be specified for a clamping or friction fit — no keyseat to transmit torque. Electrical connection is via a straight connector — the cable exit direction is fixed, so plan the cable routing and bend radius in the panel layout before terminating.
