1500 W continuous power — speed and torque across supply voltages
The SH31003M02A1200 delivers 1500 W continuous power from a three-phase supply, with nominal speed ranging from 500 rpm at 115 V single phase up to 2400 rpm at 480 V three phase. This voltage-dependent speed profile means the motor's usable speed range shifts with the line supply — a 400 V three-phase line gives 2000 rpm nominal, while a 480 V line pushes to 2400 rpm. Nominal torque also varies by supply: 7.8 N.m at 115 V single phase, dropping to 6.76 N.m at 480 V three phase. The peak stall torque hits 28.3 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, giving headroom for acceleration spikes during cycle starts.
Encoder feedback and mechanical interface
An absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback — the multiturn count tracks absolute position across power cycles, eliminating homing routines on restart. This matters for applications where the machine must resume from the last commanded position after a power loss or emergency stop. No holding brake is fitted on this variant, so the load must be held by external means (mechanical brake or drive holding torque) when power is removed. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled or straight connector, giving flexibility in cable routing within a cabinet or cable track.
Environmental sealing and cooling
The motor carries IP65 protection on the motor body and shaft bushing, with IP67 on the housing per IEC 60034-5. This means it withstands washdown environments — suitable for food processing, packaging, or any line where hose-down cleaning is routine. The shaft bushing seal is the critical wet-end barrier; the housing seal protects the encoder and winding connections. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan or forced air required. The stator resistance is 5.3 Ohm with inductance 17.4 mH, and the continuous stall current is 3.4 A at 8 N.m stall torque. The thermal limit is set by the copper hot temperature of 130 °C.
No pin-compatible direct replacement exists within the SH3 series; the sizing reference SH31003M defines the frame and winding, and the M02A1200 suffix encodes the specific encoder and connector variant. For a BOM freeze, confirm the encoder type (Hiperface) and connector orientation against the existing line before committing.
