Motor ratings and supply-voltage dependency
The SH31003M02F1000 is a three-phase servo motor from the SH3 series, delivering 1500 W continuous power on a 100 mm international standard flange. Nominal speed and torque shift with the supply voltage: at 400 V three-phase the motor delivers 2000 rpm and 7 N.m; at 480 V three-phase it reaches 2400 rpm and 6.76 N.m. The same motor on single-phase 115 V runs at 500 rpm and 7.8 N.m, and on 230 V single-phase at 1000 rpm and 7.5 N.m. Peak stall torque is 28.3 N.m across the 115 to 480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall torque of 8 N.m. The holding brake holds 9 N.m, which is above the continuous stall — important for vertical-axis loads where the brake must hold the load at rest without motor current.
Encoder feedback and mechanical interface
The motor carries an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder — this gives position feedback on power-up without a homing cycle, which matters for applications where the axis position must be known immediately after a power cycle or fault recovery. The shaft is smooth, 19 mm diameter by 40 mm long, with a 6 mm keyway. The motor flange is 100 mm with a 95 mm centring collar and 3.5 mm collar depth, mounting on four 9 mm holes. Overall length is 271.5 mm.
Environmental sealing and cooling
The motor is rated IP54 at the shaft bushing without a shaft seal ring, and IP65 when the shaft bushing is fitted — both per IEC 60034-5. The IP65 rating means the motor body withstands washdown environments, but the connector interface and cable entry must also be sealed for the system to hold the rating. Cooling is natural convection — no external fan or forced air. This limits the continuous torque available at low speeds where self-ventilation is reduced; the continuous stall torque of 8 N.m is the thermal limit at zero speed.
