Motor sizing and torque across supply voltages
The SH31003M11A1200 delivers 7.8 Nm nominal torque at 115 V single-phase, dropping to 6.76 Nm at 480 V three-phase — the torque constant is 2.35 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, so the actual torque available depends on the drive's current limit and the winding temperature rise. Nominal speed shifts with supply: 500 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1000 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 2000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 2400 rpm at 480 V three-phase. The 4-pole motor and back EMF constant of 148 V/krpm at 20 °C set the speed-voltage relationship. Continuous stall torque is 8 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall current of 3.4 A. Peak stall torque reaches 28.3 Nm at 14.7 A peak current — useful for acceleration transients but limited by the 3-second peak output rating.
Encoder feedback and environmental sealing
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback without a homing cycle on power-up — the single-turn resolution is sufficient for applications that don't need multi-turn tracking. The straight connector mates with standard Hiperface cables; verify the cable pinout matches the drive's encoder input. IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing — the motor withstands washdown and dust ingress per IEC 60034-5. The shaft seal and housing gasket are the wet-end barriers; the connector O-ring must be seated for the IP67 rating to hold.
