Motor sizing and voltage-dependent performance
The SH31003M11F2100: This SH3 series servo motor delivers 1500 W continuous power with nominal torque that shifts with the supply: 7.8 N.m at 115 V single phase, 7.5 N.m at 230 V single phase, 7.0 N.m at 400 V three phase, and 6.76 N.m at 480 V three phase. The nominal speed also follows the voltage — 500 rpm at 115 V, 1000 rpm at 230 V, 2000 rpm at 400 V, and 2400 rpm at 480 V three phase. Peak stall torque reaches 28.3 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, with a maximum current Irms of 14.7 A — that's the ceiling the drive must supply for short-duration acceleration or deceleration events.
Encoder feedback and holding brake for vertical loads
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder eliminates the need for a homing cycle on power-up — the position is known immediately, which saves time on multi-axis lines where each axis would otherwise need to find its reference.
Environmental sealing and mechanical interface
IP65 protection on both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5 means this motor withstands washdown environments — food processing, beverage lines, or any area where hosed cleaning is routine. Natural convection cooling keeps the design simple with no fan to clog or fail. The 100 mm international standard flange (3.9 in) with a 19 mm shaft diameter and parallel key accepts standard couplings and pulleys. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 1050 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 660 N at 4000 rpm — check the application's belt or gear load against these limits.
