Motor ratings that shift with supply voltage
The SH31003M12F2000: This SH3 frame servo delivers 1500 W continuous power, but the nominal speed and torque depend on the supply voltage feeding the drive — 500 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1000 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 2000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 2400 rpm at 480 V three-phase. Nominal torque follows the same pattern: 7.8 N·m at 115 V single-phase, dropping to 6.76 N·m at 480 V three-phase. Peak stall torque is 28.3 N·m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and continuous stall torque is 8 N·m.
Built-in holding brake and encoder feedback
The integrated holding brake delivers 9 N·m holding torque — enough to lock a vertical-axis load at rest without a separate brake resistor or external mechanical brake. Feedback comes from an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder, so the drive knows the rotor position at power-up without a homing sequence — a time-saver on multi-axis machines that cycle power between shifts.
Mounting dimensions and mechanical limits
The motor flange is 100 mm (IEC standard), with a 95 mm centring collar and 3.5 mm collar depth — fits the common B5 / IM B5 mounting pattern. Overall length is 271.5 mm; the shaft is 19 mm diameter with a parallel key, 40 mm shaft length, and 6 mm key width. Maximum radial force is 1050 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 660 N at 4000 rpm; maximum axial force is 160 N — respect these limits when coupling to a load with belt tension or overhung pulleys.
IP rating and cooling — no fan, so watch the duty cycle
The motor is rated IP54 at the shaft bushing without a shaft seal ring, and IP65 for the motor body and shaft bushing with the seal ring fitted — suitable for washdown zones if the seal ring is installed. Cooling is natural convection — no external fan. Continuous torque ratings assume free air circulation; sustained operation at peak torque or low speed may require derating or forced airflow.
Electrical parameters for drive tuning
Stator resistance is 5.3 Ω and inductance is 17.4 mH — these set the electrical time constant and influence the current-loop tuning gains in the servo drive. Torque constant is 2.35 N·m/A at 120 °C copper temperature; back EMF constant is 148 V/krpm at 20 °C. Maximum continuous current (Irms) is 14.7 A; the same figure applies for the 3-second peak current rating.
Connector options and mounting
The motor ships with a straight connector as standard; a rotatable right-angled connector is also listed — choose the angled version when cable clearance is tight against the machine frame. Mounting uses an international standard flange with four 9 mm diameter holes on the 100 mm flange pattern.
