Speed and torque across supply voltages
The SH31003P0AF3100 delivers 2000 rpm on 230 V single-phase, 4000 rpm on 400 V three-phase, and 4800 rpm on 480 V three-phase — the speed ceiling follows the input voltage, so match the drive supply to the target speed range. Nominal torque varies with voltage: 62.0 lbf.in (7 N.m) at 230 V single-phase, 50.4 lbf.in (5.7 N.m) at 400 V three-phase, and 45.1 lbf.in (5.1 N.m) at 480 V three-phase. The holding brake delivers 79.7 lbf.in (9 N.m) regardless of supply. Peak stall torque reaches 250.5 lbf.in (28.3 N.m) across the 115...480 V three-phase range — this is the short-duration overload ceiling for acceleration or emergency stop events.
Encoder and feedback for position loops
Fitted with an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder — no homing sequence needed on power-up, the rotor position is known immediately. The DSL protocol runs over a single cable pair, simplifying the feedback wiring compared to incremental encoder schemes. The torque constant is 1.22 N.m/A at 248 °F (120 °C), and the back EMF constant is 77 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C). These values let the drive calculate actual motor torque from current feedback and set the velocity loop gains correctly.
Mounting and environmental fit
Mounts on a 100 mm international standard flange (3.9 in) with a 3.7 in (95 mm) centring collar and 0.4 in (9.0 mm) mounting holes. The overall length is 10.7 in (271.5 mm) — check the available envelope before committing the panel layout. IP65 rating on both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5 — suitable for washdown environments and dusty lines where coolant mist or fine particulates are present. The shaft is smooth (no keyway), 0.7 in (19 mm) diameter with a 1.6 in (40 mm) shaft length. Natural convection cooling — no external fan or forced air required. The maximum radial force is 2910 N at 3000 rpm and 4200 N at 1000 rpm; maximum axial force is 740 N. Stay within these limits to avoid bearing overload.
Electrical parameters for drive tuning
Stator resistance is 1.43 Ohm and inductance is 9.4 mH — these feed into the drive's auto-tuning routine for current loop gains. The continuous stall current is 6.6 A, with a maximum RMS current of 28.3 A for short-duration peak demand. Brake pull-in power is 18 W — the holding brake engages when power is removed, so the drive's brake control output must be rated to switch this DC load. The copper winding temperature limit is 266 °F (130 °C), which sets the thermal protection threshold in the drive.
