Supply-dependent speed and torque — the real selection gate
The SH31003P0BA4100: This SH3 servo motor delivers 2000 rpm at 230 V single-phase input, 4000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 4800 rpm at 480 V three-phase — the speed ceiling is set by the supply voltage, not the motor itself. Nominal torque follows the same supply split: 7 N·m at 230 V single-phase, 5.7 N·m at 400 V three-phase, and 5.1 N·m at 480 V three-phase. The 2400 W continuous power rating holds across the three-phase configurations. Peak stall torque reaches 28.3 N·m on a 115...480 V three-phase supply — this is the short-duration overload ceiling for acceleration or emergency stop events.
Encoder and feedback — absolute multiturn Hiperface DSL
The absolute multiturn Hiperface DSL encoder provides position feedback over a single cable pair, combining power and data — no separate encoder cable needed. This simplifies the cable chain and reduces wiring faults on the line. The rotatable right-angled connector with quicklock allows the cable exit to be oriented in the field, useful when the motor is mounted in tight spaces or against a machine frame.
IP65 and thermal — sealed for wet environments
Cooling is natural convection (no fan), so the motor relies on its own surface area and the machine frame for heat dissipation. The copper hot-spot temperature is rated to 130 °C. Stator resistance is 1.43 Ohm and inductance is 4.7 mH — these values matter for the drive's current-loop tuning and for estimating I²R losses at the continuous stall current of 6.6 A.
Mounting and mechanical interface
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 100 mm flange size and a 95 mm centring collar diameter — this is a common B5 / FF100 pattern, so it bolts directly to standard gearboxes and machine frames without adaptor plates. The smooth shaft is 19 mm diameter and 40 mm long, with a centring collar depth of 3.5 mm. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 130 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 90 N at 3000 rpm; axial force is limited to 20 N.
Sourcing and lifecycle — current production, quoted to order
The motor ships as a single unit (1 per package).
