The SH31003P12F2200 delivers nominal torque that varies with the supply: 66.4 lbf·in (7.5 N·m) on 115 V single-phase, 62.0 lbf·in (7 N·m) on 230 V single-phase, 50.4 lbf·in (5.7 N·m) on 400 V three-phase, and 45.1 lbf·in (5.1 N·m) on 480 V three-phase. Peak stall torque reaches 250.5 lbf·in (28.3 N·m) across the 115–480 V three-phase range. Nominal speed also shifts with the line: 1000 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 2000 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 4000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 4800 rpm at 480 V three-phase. That means the same motor body covers both low-speed high-torque and high-speed applications depending on the drive voltage — useful when standardizing on one frame size across multiple machine variants.
Physical integration and sealing
The motor mounts on an international standard flange with a 3.9 in (100 mm) flange size and 0.4 in (9.0 mm) mounting holes. Overall length is 10.7 in (271.5 mm). The shaft is 0.7 in (19 mm) diameter, 1.6 in (40 mm) long, with a parallel key and a 0.2 in (6 mm) key width — fits standard couplings and pulleys. IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing per IEC 60034-5 — the motor withstands washdown and dust ingress. The rotatable right-angled connector lets the cable exit orient to the machine frame, saving space in tight cabinets.
Brake and encoder — what they mean for the cycle
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder eliminates homing sequences on power-up — the controller reads the exact position immediately. That shaves time off every cycle start and avoids the mechanical wear of a limit-switch home routine.
Electrical parameters and thermal limits
Stator resistance is 1.43 Ω, inductance 4.7 mH, and the torque constant is 1.22 N·m/A at 120 °C copper temperature. Back EMF constant is 77 V/krpm at 20 °C — useful for matching the drive's voltage bus to the motor's speed range. Maximum continuous current is 28.3 A RMS, with a 3-second peak of the same value. Continuous power is 2400 W, with nominal output power ranging from 790 W (115 V single-phase) to 2560 W (480 V three-phase). Cooling is by natural convection — no fan, so no fan noise or dust clogging. The motor is rated for a copper hot-spot temperature of 266 °F (130 °C).
