Motor ratings and supply voltage dependency
The SH31003P1AA3100: This SH3-series servo motor delivers 2400 W continuous power, but the nominal torque and speed depend on the supply voltage. At 230 V single-phase, it produces 7 Nm at 2000 rpm; on 400 V three-phase, 5.7 Nm at 4000 rpm; on 480 V three-phase, 5.1 Nm at 4800 rpm. The peak stall torque reaches 28.3 Nm across the 115-480 V three-phase range — that's the overload ceiling for acceleration and emergency stops. The continuous stall torque is 8 Nm at 115-480 V three-phase, with a continuous stall current of 6.6 A. Maximum current Irms is 28.3 A — the drive must be sized to supply this peak without tripping.
Encoder feedback and wiring connections
Feedback comes from an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder — this is a digital serial protocol over a single cable pair, carrying position and temperature data back to the drive. No separate encoder cable needed; the DSL interface simplifies the wiring harness and reduces panel clutter. The motor has two connection options: a rotatable right-angle connector and a quicklock straight connector. Both are pre-wired from the factory; the rotatable version lets you orient the cable exit to match the cable tray or drag chain path without adding a junction box.
Mounting, shaft, and environmental protection
The motor mounts on an international standard flange with a 100 mm flange size and 95 mm centring collar. Four mounting holes at 9.0 mm diameter on a 3.7 in (95 mm) centring collar diameter — fits standard NEMA or IEC machine frames without adapter plates. Shaft is 19 mm diameter with a parallel key, 40 mm shaft length, and 6 mm key width. The shaft end is keyed for positive torque transmission — no keyless locking ring. Maximum radial force is 4200 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 2910 N at 3000 rpm; maximum axial force is 740 N. No holding brake is fitted; if the application requires a brake to hold the load at standstill, it must be ordered separately or added externally.
Electrical parameters and thermal limits
Stator resistance is 1.43 Ohm, inductance 9.4 mH — these set the electrical time constant and influence the drive's current-loop tuning. The torque constant is 1.22 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature; the back EMF constant is 77 V/krpm at 20 °C. Four-pole motor design (number of motor poles: 4).
