Speed-torque-power at three supply voltages — the drive-matching decision
The SH31003P1BA4100: This motor delivers three distinct operating points depending on the supply voltage: 2000 rpm / 7 Nm / 1470 W on 230 V single-phase, 4000 rpm / 5.7 Nm / 2390 W on 400 V three-phase, and 4800 rpm / 5.1 Nm / 2390 W on 480 V three-phase. The 2400 W continuous power rating sets the thermal limit for sustained duty; the peak stall torque of 28.3 Nm provides a 3.5× overload margin over the 8 Nm continuous stall torque for high-inertia starts or transient loads.
Hiperface DSL encoder — no homing routine at startup
The absolute multiturn Hiperface DSL encoder eliminates the need for a homing sequence on power-up; the motor knows its absolute position within a revolution and across multiple turns as soon as the drive communication link is established. This saves commissioning time on multi-axis machines where each axis would otherwise need to find its reference mark before the sequence can run. The rotatable right-angled connector lets the cable exit point be adjusted in the field, which simplifies routing in tight cabinets or along moving cable tracks without needing a different motor variant.
IP65 and flange mounting — washdown-ready for wet environments
Mounting uses the international standard flange with a 100 mm flange size and 95 mm centering collar, so it fits standard European and NEMA-style gearbox interfaces without adapters. The shaft is 19 mm diameter with a parallel key, 40 mm shaft length, and 6 mm key width — a common metric interface that matches many planetary gearboxes and couplings.
No holding brake — plan for vertical-axis or power-off hold
This variant ships without a holding brake, so any application requiring the motor to hold position when power is removed — vertical lifting axes, gravity-loaded conveyors, or tool-change spindles — must add an external brake or select a braked variant of the SH3 series. The absence of a brake also means zero additional rotor inertia from brake components, which keeps acceleration rates high for pick-and-place or indexing applications.
