Torque and speed across the supply range
The SH31004P02A2100: This SH3 frame servo delivers 3000 rpm nominal at 400 V three-phase input, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase — the speed ceiling shifts with the bus voltage. At 115 V single-phase it runs 750 rpm; at 230 V single-phase, 1500 rpm. The nominal torque follows inversely: 7.9 N.m at 400 V three-phase, 6.9 N.m at 480 V three-phase, and 9.9 N.m at 115 V single-phase. For sizing, the continuous stall torque is 10 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and peak stall torque hits 40.5 N.m. The continuous power rating is 2500 W, with nominal output power varying by supply: 2480 W at 400 V three-phase, 2600 W at 480 V three-phase, 1490 W at 230 V single-phase, and 780 W at 115 V single-phase. The 4-pole motor keeps the torque ripple low across the speed range.
Feedback and connection — what the encoder means for the loop
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder gives position feedback at power-up without a homing cycle — the multiturn count tracks absolute position over multiple shaft revolutions. This is the encoder type that holds the micron on a tool change or a pick-and-place cycle; the SinCos analog track provides velocity ripple below 0.5% at low speed for the servo loop. The torque constant is 1.62 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 103 V/krpm at 20 °C — match these to the drive's current loop and DC bus voltage headroom. Electrical connection options include a straight connector and a rotatable right-angled connector — the right-angle version helps in tight cable trays or where the motor mounts close to a panel wall. The smooth shaft without keyway means the coupling or pulley must clamp on the 24 mm shaft diameter; the shaft length is 50 mm.
Mechanical fit and environmental rating
The motor mounts on an international standard flange with a 100 mm flange size and a 95 mm centring collar diameter. The centring collar depth is 3.5 mm — this registers the motor square to the mating face. Mounting holes are 9.0 mm diameter on the bolt circle. Overall length is 276.5 mm. IP65 protection on both the motor body and the shaft bushing means it handles washdown and dust ingress — the shaft bushing seal keeps coolant and chips out of the front bearing. Cooling is by natural convection, so no external fan or coolant circuit; the thermal limit is set by the 130 °C copper hot-spot temperature. Maximum radial force is 1070 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 740 N at 3000 rpm; maximum axial force is 160 N.
