Torque and speed — what the numbers mean for the machine
Nominal torque depends on your supply: 9.5 Nm at 230 V single-phase, 7.9 Nm at 400 V three-phase, and 6.9 Nm at 480 V three-phase — so if you're running this on a single-phase feed, you get the highest continuous torque, but the nominal output power drops to 1490 W. Nominal speed also shifts with voltage: 1500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. The maximum mechanical speed is 6000 rpm, so there's headroom if the application needs a brief overspeed. Peak stall torque is 40.5 Nm (358.5 lbf.in) — that's the short-duration torque for acceleration or emergency stop, not the continuous rating. The continuous stall current is 6.2 A, while the maximum current Irms is 32.3 A, so the drive needs to supply that peak for transient events.
Encoder, cooling, and mechanical fit
The absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder gives position feedback without a home cycle on power-up — one less thing to tune during commissioning. The motor is naturally convection-cooled, so no external fan or coolant lines to plumb. IP65 on both the motor body and the shaft bushing means it handles washdown and dust without extra guarding. The flange is the international standard 100 mm size (3.9 in), with a 24 mm smooth shaft and a 50 mm shaft length — no keyway, so the coupling or pulley clamps directly. The electrical connection is a straight quicklock connector — mates without tools, which saves time in a panel build. No holding brake on this variant, so the load must be self-locking or held by the drive's holding torque at standstill.
