Torque and speed envelope across supply voltages
The SH31004P0AF4000 delivers a nominal torque that depends on the supply voltage: 9.5 Nm at 230 V single-phase, 7.9 Nm at 400 V three-phase, and 6.9 Nm at 480 V three-phase. Nominal speed shifts accordingly — 1500 rpm at 230 V, 3000 rpm at 400 V, and 3600 rpm at 480 V. This means the same motor frame covers both low-speed high-torque and high-speed lower-torque applications depending on the drive and line power available. Peak stall torque reaches 40.5 Nm at 115-480 V three-phase, giving a 4:1 torque margin over the continuous stall torque of 10 Nm for short-duration acceleration events. The continuous power rating of 2500 W sets the thermal ceiling for sustained duty.
Brake and feedback for vertical-axis control
Feedback is an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder, providing position at power-up without a homing sequence. This encoder type is common on Schneider Lexium drives; confirm the drive firmware version supports Hiperface DSL before mating.
Environmental sealing and mechanical fit
The motor body carries IP65 protection per IEC 60034-5, suitable for washdown or dusty environments. The shaft bushing without shaft seal ring is rated IP54 — in wet environments, a shaft seal or lip seal should be added at the coupling interface. Mounting uses an international standard flange with 100 mm flange size and 9 mm mounting holes. The smooth shaft (24 mm diameter, 50 mm length) requires a clamping-type coupling — no keyway is provided. Maximum radial force is 130 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 90 N at 3000 rpm; axial force is limited to 20 N. The rotatable right-angle connector with Quicklock simplifies cable routing in tight cabinets. Overall length is 307.5 mm.
Electrical parameters for drive selection
Maximum current Irms is 32.3 A, with a 3-second peak of the same value — the drive must supply this current for acceleration without tripping. Stator resistance is 1.8 Ohm and inductance is 13 mH, which sets the current-loop bandwidth and switching frequency requirements. The torque constant is 1.62 Nm/A at 120°C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 103 V/krpm at 20°C. At 3000 rpm, the back EMF reaches 309 V line-to-line — the drive DC bus must be high enough to overcome this plus the resistive drop at full current. Natural convection cooling means no external fan — the motor relies on its own surface area and the machine's airflow. In stalled or continuous high-torque applications, the thermal time constant and ambient temperature must be checked against the duty cycle.
