Torque and speed across the voltage range
The SH31004P12A2100: This SH3 frame motor delivers 9.9 N·m nominal torque at 750 rpm on 115 V single-phase, 9.5 N·m at 1500 rpm on 230 V single-phase, 7.9 N·m at 3000 rpm on 400 V three-phase, and 6.9 N·m at 3600 rpm on 480 V three-phase — the speed-torque envelope shifts with the supply, so the drive parameter set must match the line voltage at commissioning. Continuous power is 2500 W, with nominal output power varying from 780 W on 115 V single-phase up to 2600 W on 480 V three-phase. Peak stall torque reaches 40.5 N·m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and peak current is 32.3 A — the drive's current limit must be set to at least this value to access full peak torque.
Encoder feedback and environmental sealing
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback without a home cycle on power-up — a failure mode to check is the encoder cable shield termination; an open shield at the connector end introduces noise that the SinCos signal level cannot reject. IP65 rating on both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5 means this motor withstands washdown and airborne particulates in food, beverage, or woodworking lines. The straight and rotatable right-angled connector options let the cable exit route away from the wet zone.
Rotor inertia and mechanical load matching
The 24 mm shaft with a parallel key and 50 mm shaft length accepts standard couplings and pulleys. Maximum radial force is 1070 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 740 N at 3000 rpm — a belt-driven load must be checked against this radial limit at the operating speed to avoid bearing fatigue.
Stator parameters and thermal behaviour
Stator resistance is 1.81 Ω and inductance is 6.5 mH — the electrical time constant is about 3.6 ms, which sets the minimum current-loop update rate the drive must support. The copper hot-spot temperature is 130 °C, and cooling is by natural convection only, so the motor relies on its own surface area and the machine frame for heat rejection. The torque constant is 1.62 N·m/A at 120 °C, and the back-EMF constant is 103 V/krpm at 20 °C. The 4-pole design means the electrical frequency at 3000 rpm is 100 Hz — the drive's current regulator bandwidth must exceed this by at least a factor of 10 for full torque at speed.
