Motor ratings at your supply voltage
The SH31004P1AA3000 is a three-phase servo motor whose output depends on the line voltage feeding the drive. At 230 V single-phase input the nominal speed is 1500 rpm with 9.5 N·m torque and 1490 W output; feed it 400 V three-phase and it delivers 3000 rpm at 7.9 N·m and 2480 W; at 480 V three-phase it reaches 3600 rpm at 6.9 N·m, also 2480 W. Continuous power is 2500 W, with a continuous stall torque of 10 N·m across the 115–480 V three-phase range and a continuous stall current of 6.2 A. Encoder, feedback, and drive pairing
The encoder is an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL — a digital serial link protocol that carries position and temperature data over a single cable pair. This means the drive must support Hiperface DSL; it is not compatible with EnDat, BiSS, or incremental-only interfaces. The torque constant is 1.62 N·m/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the stator resistance is 1.8 Ω with 13 mH inductance — these numbers feed the drive's autotuning routine for current-loop gains. Mounting, cooling, and environmental fit
The motor flange is 100 mm (3.9 in) with an international standard flange pattern — centring collar diameter 95 mm, depth 3.5 mm, four mounting holes on a 9.0 mm diameter. Shaft is 24 mm diameter with a parallel key, 50 mm shaft length, 8 mm key width. Cooling is natural convection — no external fan, so the motor relies on its own surface area and the mounting flange for heat rejection. In a confined cabinet or at continuous full torque, check the ambient temperature against the 130 °C copper hot-spot limit. IP rating is IP65 on the motor body per IEC 60034-5, but the shaft bushing without a shaft seal ring drops to IP54 — if washdown spray hits the shaft exit, add an external seal or position the motor so the shaft is not directly impinged. Electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector and a quicklock straight connector — both are pre-wired at the factory, so cable entry orientation is fixed at order time. Confirm the connector exit angle matches your cable routing before committing the BOM.
No brake — plan for vertical loads
This variant ships without a holding brake. For vertical-axis applications (Z-axis, gantry lifts, gravity-loaded rotary tables), an external brake or a motor with the brake option is required to hold position when the drive is disabled. Maximum axial force Fa is 20 N, and radial force Fr depends on speed: 130 N at 1000 rpm, 105 N at 2000 rpm, 90 N at 3000 rpm. These limits govern the coupling and belt-drive selection — overshoot them and the bearing life drops sharply.
