The SH31004P1AF3100 is a three-phase Lexium SH3 servo motor delivering 2500 W continuous power with an integrated holding brake rated at 12 N.m. This brake holds the load on a vertical axis without external mechanical locking — the 18 W pull-in power means the brake coil engages quickly and stays cool during hold cycles. The absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder provides position feedback over a single cable, combining power and signal in one rotatable right-angled connector. This eliminates a separate feedback cable run and simplifies cable management in a moving axis.
Speed-torque envelope across supply voltages
Nominal speed varies with supply: 1500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. The nominal torque follows the same curve — 9.5 N.m at 230 V, 7.9 N.m at 400 V, and 6.9 N.m at 480 V — so the motor delivers higher torque at lower speeds when running on a single-phase input. Peak stall torque reaches 40.5 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, giving a 4:1 torque overload margin above the continuous stall torque of 10 N.m. This headroom handles acceleration transients and load disturbances without tripping the drive. The torque constant is 1.62 N.m/A at 120 °C winding temperature, and the back EMF constant is 103 V/krpm at 20 °C. These values let the servo drive calculate the motor current needed for a given torque demand and set the velocity loop gains for stable speed control.
IP65 enclosure and 100 mm flange for machine integration
The motor body and shaft bushing are both rated IP65 per IEC 60034-5, so the unit withstands washdown and airborne particulates in food-processing or packaging lines. Natural convection cooling means no fan — no additional airflow path or filter maintenance required. The 100 mm flange (3.9 in) with a 95 mm centring collar and 9.0 mm mounting holes matches the standard IEC frame size. The 24 mm shaft with a parallel key and 50 mm shaft length couples directly to most gearboxes and pulleys without an adapter. Maximum radial force is 145 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 100 N at 3000 rpm — check the overhung load from the belt or gear against this curve. Axial force is limited to 20 N, so a thrust bearing on the load side is needed if the application pushes or pulls axially on the shaft.
