Three-phase servo, 1700 W — the speed-versus-voltage table decides the drive pairing
The SH31401M01A1000 is a three-phase servo motor from the Schneider Electric SH3 series, rated for 1700 W continuous power. Its nominal speed depends entirely on the supply voltage and phase configuration: 375 rpm on 115 V single-phase, 750 rpm on 230 V single-phase, 1500 rpm on 400 V three-phase, and 1800 rpm on 480 V three-phase. Nominal torque follows the same pattern: 11 Nm at 115 V single-phase, 10.95 Nm at 230 V single-phase, 10.6 Nm at 400 V three-phase, and 10.4 Nm at 480 V three-phase. The motor delivers a peak stall torque of 27 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range. The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback — the drive must support this protocol. No holding brake is fitted, so the load must be held by the drive's holding brake function or an external mechanical brake.
Mechanical interface — flange size, shaft dimensions, and cooling
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 140 mm flange size, 130 mm centring collar diameter, and 3.5 mm centring collar depth. Mounting holes are 11 mm diameter, spaced for the standard flange pattern. The shaft is 24 mm diameter, 50 mm long, smooth (no keyway), with an 8 mm key width. Maximum radial force is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 300 N. Cooling is by natural convection — no fan or forced air required. The IP rating is IP54 at the shaft bushing without the shaft seal ring, and IP65 with the seal ring fitted. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angle connector or a straight connector.
Electrical parameters and feedback — sizing the drive and cable
Stator resistance is 5.3 Ohm, stator inductance is 88.55 mH. The torque constant is 2.78 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 193 V/krpm at 20 °C. Continuous stall current is 4 A; maximum RMS current is 10.8 A.
