Supply voltage and speed matching
The SH31401M01A2100: This is a three-phase servo motor from the SH3 family, but the speed you get depends on what voltage you feed it. On 400 V three-phase it turns 1500 rpm; on 480 V three-phase it reaches 1800 rpm. If you only have single-phase 230 V available, it still runs — at 750 rpm. The nominal torque holds fairly steady across supply configurations: 10.6 Nm at 400 V three-phase, 10.4 Nm at 480 V three-phase. That means the motor can deliver consistent torque regardless of which voltage standard your site uses, as long as you account for the speed difference. Continuous power is rated at 1700 W, with peak stall torque reaching 27 Nm across the 115...480 V three-phase range. The continuous stall torque sits at 11.1 Nm — so the motor can hold position under load without overheating, as long as the drive current stays at or below the 4 A continuous stall current.
Encoder feedback and position control
The motor carries an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder. Single-turn means it knows its position within one revolution on power-up — no homing sequence needed after a power cycle. The Hiperface protocol is common across Schneider drives and many third-party servo drives, so it mates cleanly with a Lexium 32 or similar drive without extra interface hardware. The back EMF constant is 193 V/krpm at 20 °C, and the torque constant is 2.78 Nm/A at 120 °C. These numbers matter when you're sizing the drive: the drive's DC bus voltage must be high enough to overcome the back EMF at top speed, and the current loop needs to supply the torque constant's demand at the required torque.
Mounting and environmental fit
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 140 mm flange size and a 130 mm centring collar. It bolts in with four 11 mm mounting holes on a standard pattern — no custom adapter plate needed. The shaft is 24 mm diameter, 50 mm long, smooth (no keyway), so the coupling or pulley clamps onto the shaft directly. IP65 protection on both the motor body and the shaft bushing means it handles washdown and dust without sealing modifications. The cooling is natural convection — no fan to fail or filter to clean, but you do need to keep the ambient air moving enough to carry the 1700 W heat away. The total length is 217.5 mm, so it fits inside a standard NEMA 4X enclosure if the gland plate is positioned right.
