What the torque and speed curves tell you
The SH31401M02A2200: This SH3-frame motor delivers 11 Nm nominal torque at 400 V three-phase input, with a continuous stall torque of 11.1 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range. The peak stall torque hits 27 Nm — useful for short-duration acceleration or overcoming static friction in a pick-and-place cycle. Nominal speed depends on the supply: 375 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 750 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 1500 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 1800 rpm at 480 V three-phase. Maximum mechanical speed is 4000 rpm, so the motor can overspeed the nominal point if the drive and load allow it.
Feedback and environmental sealing
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder eliminates the need for a homing sequence on power-up — the position is known as soon as the drive powers the encoder. This saves cycle time in multi-axis machines where each axis would otherwise have to find its reference mark. IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing — the motor handles washdown environments as long as the mating connector is also sealed. The rotatable right-angled connector lets you route the cable in tight enclosures without stressing the gland.
Mechanical interface and mounting
International standard flange, 140 mm (5.5 in) flange size, with a 130 mm centring collar and 3.5 mm collar depth. The four mounting holes are 11 mm diameter — M10 bolts fit. Shaft is 24 mm diameter, 50 mm long, smooth (no keyway), so the coupling or pulley must clamp directly on the shaft. Maximum radial force is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 1340 N at 3000 rpm. Axial force limit is 300 N. These limits govern bearing life — overshoot them and the bearing race spalls prematurely. Natural convection cooling — no fan, so no fan noise or filter maintenance. The copper winding temperature limit is 130 °C, and the motor relies on the flange and machine frame for heat sinking.
Electrical parameters for drive tuning
Stator resistance is 5.3 Ω per phase, stator inductance 88.55 mH. The torque constant is 2.78 Nm/A at 120 °C winding temperature, and the back EMF constant is 193 V/krpm at 20 °C. These numbers go straight into the drive's autotune routine — the drive measures them anyway, but having the datasheet values lets you sanity-check the autotune result. Continuous stall current is 4 A; maximum RMS current is 10.8 A. The 1700 W continuous power rating assumes the drive can supply the current at the nominal speed point. Five pole pairs — typical for a servo motor in this torque class.
The sizing reference is SH31401M, and the device short name is SH3 — this is the 140 mm flange variant of the SH3 family. The motor ships one unit per package.
