Motor specs that decide the fit
Three-phase motor — the SH31401M11A1000 runs on three-phase supply only, so the drive must match that phase configuration. Nominal speed shifts with voltage: 1500 rpm at 400 V three-phase, 1800 rpm at 480 V three-phase. Nominal torque holds around 10.6 Nm at 400 V three-phase and 10.4 Nm at 480 V three-phase — the motor delivers consistent torque across the common industrial voltage range. Peak stall torque reaches 27 Nm for short-duration moves.
Encoder and feedback — what mates with the drive
Absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder — this is a position feedback standard used across Schneider and third-party drives. The SinCos analog tracks provide fine position interpolation; the Hiperface protocol handles the absolute position over a serial link. Confirm the drive's encoder interface supports Hiperface before wiring. Back EMF constant is 193 V/krpm at 20 °C — this sets the voltage the motor generates back into the drive at speed. The torque constant is 2.78 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, useful for sizing the drive's current loop.
Mounting and mechanical interface
140 mm (5.5 in) international standard flange with a 130 mm centring collar — this is the IEC metric flange pattern common on European-spec machines. The shaft is 24 mm diameter with a parallel key, 50 mm shaft length, and 8 mm key width. Overall length is 217.5 mm (8.6 in) from the mounting face. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector or a straight connector — the rotatable option helps in tight cable-routing spaces. No holding brake on this variant — for vertical-axis or Z-axis applications where the load must hold position with power off, a brake-equipped version is needed. The IP rating depends on the shaft seal: IP54 without the shaft seal ring, IP65 with it fitted.
Sourcing and lifecycle — active production
Natural convection cooling — no external fan or forced air required. The motor relies on its own surface area and mounting flange to dissipate heat, so the surrounding enclosure must allow free airflow around the frame.
