Motor ratings that decide the drive match
The SH31401M11F2000: This is a three-phase servo motor from the SH3 series, sized for applications where the load demands 1700 W continuous power and the drive can deliver the current profile. The nominal torque sits at 10.6 N.m when fed from a 400 V three-phase supply, or 10.4 N.m at 480 V — the torque constant is 2.78 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature, so the drive's current loop directly sets the available torque. The nominal speed shifts with the line voltage: 1500 rpm at 400 V three-phase, 1800 rpm at 480 V three-phase. The maximum mechanical speed is 4000 rpm, which is the rotor's structural ceiling — the drive's output frequency and bus voltage will limit the usable speed before the bearing or balance does. Peak stall torque is 27 N.m across the 115...480 V range, good for short-duration acceleration moves. The continuous stall torque is 11.1 N.m, and the continuous stall current is 4 A — that 4 A figure is the baseline for sizing the drive's continuous current rating.
Brake and encoder — what locks and what tracks
The holding brake delivers 23 N.m of holding torque — enough to lock a vertical load or keep the axis stationary when the drive is disabled. This is a spring-applied, power-off brake; it engages when the motor power is removed, so the axis won't drift during a power loss or emergency stop. Feedback comes from an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder. Single-turn means the absolute position is known within one revolution after power-up — no homing sequence needed for rotary axes that don't require multi-turn tracking. The SinCos analog tracks give the drive fine interpolation for velocity ripple control.
Mounting and environmental fit
The motor flange is 140 mm (5.5 in), with an international standard flange pattern — mounts directly to standard gearboxes and machine frames. The centring collar is 130 mm diameter with a 3.5 mm depth, and the mounting holes are 11 mm diameter on the flange bolt circle. The shaft is 24 mm diameter with a parallel key, 50 mm shaft length, and 8 mm key width. The IP rating is IP65 for the motor body, with IP54 at the shaft bushing when no shaft seal ring is fitted — suitable for washdown environments if the shaft seal is addressed, but not submersible.
