Power and speed across supply voltages
The SH31401M12F1200 is a three-phase servo motor delivering 1.7 kW continuous power at 400 V three-phase, with a nominal speed of 1500 rpm. At 480 V three-phase the nominal output power rises to 1960 W and the speed to 1800 rpm. Single-phase supply options produce lower ratings: 430 W at 115 V / 375 rpm, and 860 W at 230 V / 750 rpm. Nominal torque varies with supply as well — 11 N.m at 115 V single-phase, 10.95 N.m at 230 V single-phase, 10.6 N.m at 400 V three-phase, and 10.4 N.m at 480 V three-phase. The continuous stall torque is 11.1 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall current of 4 A.
Feedback and electrical parameters
Encoder is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface type — this gives position feedback on power-up without a homing cycle, and the SinCos track provides high-resolution velocity feedback for tight servo loop tuning. The torque constant is 2.78 N.m/A at 120 °C, and the back EMF constant is 193 V/krpm at 20 °C. Stator resistance is 5.3 Ohm and stator inductance is 88.55 mH. The maximum RMS current is 10.8 A. These values set the current-loop tuning gains and the voltage demand from the drive at high speed.
Holding brake and mechanical envelope
Integral holding brake rated at 23 N.m holding torque — sufficient to hold a vertical axis load or prevent shaft rotation when the drive is disabled. The brake is spring-applied, power-off engaged, so it fails safe on power loss. Motor flange size is 140 mm (5.5 in) with an international standard flange mount. Overall length is 255.5 mm (10.06 in). Shaft diameter is 24 mm with a parallel key and a shaft length of 50 mm. Maximum mechanical speed is 4000 rpm. IP65 rated on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing — suitable for washdown environments and dusty industrial floors. Cooling is by natural convection; no external fan or coolant required.
