Motor ratings and drive pairing — what the voltage-dependent specs mean for your build
The SH31403P11F2000 is a three-phase servo motor from the SH3 family, delivering 4.1 kW continuous power. Its nominal speed and torque are voltage-dependent: at 400 V three-phase it produces 3000 rpm and 12.9 N.m; at 480 V three-phase it reaches 3600 rpm and 9.1 N.m. This means the drive supply voltage directly sets the machine's top speed and available torque — a 480 V line gives higher speed but lower torque per amp. Peak stall torque is 90.2 N.m across the 115...480 V three-phase range, with a corresponding peak current of 61.0 A. The drive must be sized to supply this peak current for acceleration and deceleration transients, not just the continuous torque figure. The holding brake delivers 36 N.m of holding torque, enough to keep a vertical load stationary when the drive is disabled. The brake is included — no external brake resistor or mechanical lock needed for standstill holding.
Encoder feedback and mechanical fit — what connects where
Feedback is via an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder. This is a digital-plus-analog protocol common on Schneider Lexium drives — confirm your drive model supports Hiperface before wiring. Single-turn means absolute position within one revolution; multi-turn position requires a separate multi-turn encoder variant. The motor flange is 140 mm (5.5 in) with an international standard flange pattern. Shaft diameter is 24 mm with a parallel key, shaft length 50 mm. The centring collar depth is 3.5 mm. Mounting holes are 11 mm diameter — M10 or 3/8-inch bolts fit. Overall length is 365.5 mm (14.4 in). The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector — the cable exit angle can be adjusted in the field to fit tight cabinet layouts.
Environmental sealing and cooling — where this motor can run
IP rating depends on the shaft seal fitted: IP54 with the standard shaft bushing (no shaft seal ring), IP65 with the optional shaft seal ring. The motor body itself is IP65-rated. For washdown or dust-prone environments, specify the shaft seal ring variant. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan or forced air required. This simplifies installation but means the continuous torque rating assumes free airflow around the motor body; derating applies if mounted in a confined space or against a panel face.
