What this SH31404P01F1200 delivers that a plain servo doesn't
The SH31404P01F1200 is a three-phase servo motor with an integrated holding brake, rated for 4040 W continuous power at 400 V three-phase supply. The nominal speed at that voltage is 3000 rpm, and the nominal torque is 12.9 N.m (114.2 lbf.in). The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder means the drive knows the rotor position at power-up — no homing cycle needed on a single-turn application. For multi-turn travel, the drive or controller handles the wrap-around logic.
Torque and speed across the supply voltage range
This motor delivers different torque and speed depending on the supply. At 400 V three-phase, nominal torque is 12.9 N.m at 3000 rpm; at 480 V three-phase, it's 11.1 N.m at 3600 rpm. On single-phase 115 V, nominal torque drops to 30.2 N.m at 750 rpm, and on 230 V single-phase, 26.3 N.m at 1500 rpm. Peak stall torque across the 115...480 V three-phase range is 131.9 N.m (1167.4 lbf.in), and continuous stall torque is 33.4 N.m (295.6 lbf.in) — the continuous rating is the one to size for, not the peak. The torque constant is 1.57 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 104 V/krpm at 20 °C. These let the drive calculate the actual torque from the current feedback.
Mounting and environmental fit for a production line
The motor mounts on an international standard flange with a 140 mm (5.5 in) pilot diameter and a 130 mm (5.1 in) centring collar, secured through four 11 mm holes. The overall length is 420.5 mm (16.6 in) — measure the available envelope before ordering. IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing — both per IEC 60034-5. That means the motor handles washdown spray and temporary immersion at the shaft seal, which is the usual failure point on a food-line or wet-area servo. Cooling is natural convection, so no fan or coolant lines. The continuous power rating assumes free airflow around the flange and body — don't box it into a tight enclosure without derating.
