Speed-torque envelope across supply voltages
The SH31404P02F2200: This SH3 frame servo delivers 3000 rpm nominal at 400 V three-phase input, stepping to 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. On single-phase supplies the speed ceiling drops to 1500 rpm at 230 V or 750 rpm at 115 V — the winding configuration limits the bus voltage available to the drive. Nominal torque varies significantly with supply: 30.2 N.m at 115 V single-phase, 26.3 N.m at 230 V single-phase, 12.9 N.m at 400 V three-phase, and 11.1 N.m at 480 V three-phase. The torque derating reflects the available current from the drive at each line voltage. Continuous power is 4040 W at 400 V three-phase, with 4190 W available at 480 V three-phase. The 2370 W figure at 115 V single-phase confirms this motor is primarily designed for three-phase installations.
Brake, encoder, and mechanical interface
Feedback comes from an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder — no homing cycle needed on power-up for position-aware applications. The encoder type supports high-resolution velocity and position loops over the Hiperface serial protocol. The motor mounts on a 140 mm international standard flange with a 130 mm centring collar and 11 mm mounting holes. The smooth shaft measures 24 mm diameter by 50 mm length — no keyway, so the coupling must transmit torque through a clamping or friction fit.
Environmental sealing and cooling
IP65 rating on the motor body and shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5, with IP67 on the housing — the motor withstands washdown and dust ingress in food, beverage, or wet machining environments. The rotatable right-angled connector allows cable exit orientation adjustment during installation. Cooling is by natural convection only — no forced-air fan. The continuous stall torque of 33.4 N.m across the 115-480 V three-phase range defines the thermal limit under locked-rotor conditions.
Electrical parameters and peak capability
Stator resistance is 0.28 Ohm with 2.035 mH inductance, giving a torque constant of 1.57 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature. The back EMF constant is 104 V/krpm at 20 °C — match this to the drive's DC bus voltage to avoid overspeed saturation. Peak stall torque reaches 131.9 N.m at 95.6 A peak current for 3 seconds — this is the acceleration limit for short-duration moves. The maximum continuous RMS current is 95.6 A, which sets the drive sizing requirement.
No pin-compatible alternative exists within the SH3 family — the sizing reference SH31404P defines the frame length, flange, and winding. Any substitution would require a different frame size or winding variant.
