10.6 kW servo with absolute feedback and holding brake
The SH32053P02F1100 is a 10.6 kW continuous-rated servo motor from the SH3 series, delivering 2000 rpm nominal at 400 V three-phase input. It carries an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder for position feedback without a home cycle on power-up, and a holding brake rated 80 N.m for vertical-axis load holding. The motor is IP65 rated per IEC 60034-5 on both the motor body and shaft bushing, meaning it withstands washdown environments in food processing, packaging, or machine-tool coolant applications. The 5-pole design and 2.05 mH stator inductance suit high-dynamic current-loop tuning with a compatible servo drive.
Torque and power across supply voltages
Nominal torque varies significantly with supply: 84.9 N.m at 115 V single-phase, 74.4 N.m at 230 V single-phase, 50.7 N.m at 400 V three-phase, and 40.2 N.m at 480 V three-phase. The continuous stall torque is 94.4 N.m across the 115-480 V three-phase range, and peak stall torque reaches 330 N.m for acceleration events. Nominal output power follows: 4450 W at 115 V single-phase, 7790 W at 230 V single-phase, 10620 W at 400 V three-phase, and 10100 W at 480 V three-phase. The maximum continuous current is 136.1 A RMS, with a 3-second peak of the same value for transient overloads.
Mechanical interface and mounting
The motor mounts on an international standard flange with an 8.07 in (205 mm) flange size, a 7.09 in (180 mm) centring collar diameter, and a 0.2 in (4 mm) centring collar depth. Four 0.6 in (14 mm) mounting holes accept standard bolts. The smooth shaft is 1.5 in (38 mm) diameter and 3.1 in (80 mm) long, suitable for keyless clamping couplings. Overall length is 21.2 in (538.5 mm). The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector or a straight connector option, giving flexibility for cable routing in tight cabinets. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan, so the thermal budget depends on the mounting surface and ambient airflow.
Encoder, brake, and thermal limits
The torque constant is 2.84 N.m/A at 248 °F (120 °C), and the back EMF constant is 172 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C). Stator resistance is 0.2 Ohm, and stator inductance is 2.05 mH — these values set the current-loop bandwidth and I²R heating. The copper temperature limit is 266 °F (130 °C), defining the thermal protection threshold in the drive.
