The TA16D4L1004TPE is a Schneider Electric TransferPacT automatic transfer switch (ATS) rated for 100 A at 400 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 4 poles, PC class per IEC 60947-6-1. It automatically switches a load between two sources of supply — typically mains and a generator — when one source fails or goes out of tolerance. The PC class designation means this switch is a dedicated transfer switch, not a combination switch-fuse or switch-breaker. It is rated for uninterrupted duty and includes mechanical interlocking to prevent both sources from closing simultaneously.
Short-time withstand current (Icw) is 10 kA for 0.1 s, and the short-circuit making capacity (Icm) reaches 154 kA peak when paired with an upstream protection circuit breaker at 400 V AC. Alone, the switch-disconnector makes 20 kA at 400 V AC. These figures define the upstream protection coordination required. Impulse withstand (Uimp) is 8 kV for the switch, 6 kV for the controller.
Mounts fixed to a plate or DIN rail. Dimensions are 351 mm wide × 164 mm high × 95 mm deep — plan for a 30 mm connection pitch on the terminals. Both upside and downside connections are screwed terminals. Front face carries IP40 protection in auto mode; inside the enclosure, the manual mode interface is IP20.
Controls and status
Control interface includes 4 push-buttons and an LCD screen. Operating mode is selectable between automatic and manual. The switch provides 3 contact positions (source 1, source 2, OFF) with a padlockable OFF position. Signal contacts are configurable as 1 NO + 2 NC or 1 NC + 2 NO or 2 NO. Suitable for isolation — the switch provides visible contact position indication and mechanical interlocking.
