Key electrical decisions
The TM3RDM16R: Inputs are 24 V DC sink/source with a guaranteed ON threshold of 15 V at 2.5 mA and OFF below 5 V at 1 mA. The 4.7 kΩ input impedance means each channel draws about 5 mA at 24 V — fine for most 3-wire sensors but check the driver if sourcing from a low-power PLC output. Backplane draw is 70 mA at 5 V and 40 mA at 24 V — leave headroom on the rack's bus power budget if this is one of several TM3 modules.
Physical fit and environment
Operating range: 0–55 °C horizontal, up to 2000 m altitude, 10–95% RH non-condensing. Shock 15 g / 11 ms, vibration 3.5 mm up to 8.4 Hz then 3 g to 150 Hz. Pollution degree 2 — fine for a dry switchgear cubicle.
