The TM3TI8TG is an 8-channel analog input module from the Modicon TM3 family, taking thermocouple and RTD signals directly. It resolves to 16 bits (15 bits + sign, LSB 0.1 °C or 1 Ohm), which is enough headroom for most process temperature loops without external signal conditioners. Conversion time equals 100 ms plus 100 ms per active channel plus one controller cycle. Non-linearity is ±0.2 %FS, repeat accuracy ±0.5 %FS, temperature drift ±0.01 %FS/°C. For a thermocouple measuring up to 1760 °C (type B, R, S), absolute accuracy at 25 °C is ±0.2 %FS above 200 °C and ±6 °C below that — the cold-junction compensation is already inside the module.
It clips onto standard top-hat rail TH35-7.5 or TH35-15 (IEC 60715), or you can panel-mount it with the optional fixing kit. Width is 0.9 inches, so it occupies one slot on the TM3 backplane — high-density racks can pack 16 of these across a full rack. Wiring: two removable screw terminal blocks (10-way each, 1.5 mm², 3.81 mm pitch). One block handles inputs, the other input and supply. The cable must be twisted shielded pairs, total run under 30 m. No ground-loop issues if you tie the shield at the panel entry only. IP20 and pollution degree 2 means it's standard for inside a clean enclosure — no condensation, humidity 10–95% non-condensing. Vibration tolerance: 3.5 mm at 5–8.4 Hz, 3 gn above that on DIN rail.
