The Schneider TM3TM3 is a Modicon TM3 analog I/O module that gives you two inputs and one output in a package that's 23.6 mm wide – about the width of your index finger. It reads thermocouples (J, K, R, S, B, T, C, N, E), RTDs (Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100, Ni1000), voltage (±10 V or 0–10 V), and current (0–20 mA or 4–20 mA) on the input side. The single output can be voltage or current, same ranges. Resolution hits 16 bits for voltage and current, 15 bits plus sign for inputs; non-linearity runs ±0.01% FS on the analog output and ±0.1% FS on inputs. Repeat accuracy sits at ±0.5% FS, and absolute accuracy on the voltage/current inputs is ±0.1% FS at 25 °C. Conversion time for thermocouples is 100 ms plus 100 ms per channel plus one controller cycle – so plan for about 300 ms on a two-channel scan.
Mounting, wiring, and field fit
This module clips onto a standard TH35-15 or TH35-7.5 DIN rail – the same rail as all other TM3 slices. It's IP20, so keep it inside the enclosure. The screw terminal block is removable, 11 positions, accepts up to 2.5 mm² wire with a 5.08 mm pitch. Schneider calls for twisted shielded pair cable under 30 m for both inputs and outputs. There's one green PWR LED on the front for a quick power check. If you're in a panel with vibration, the module is rated for 3.5 mm at 5–8.4 Hz on DIN rail, then 3 gn up to 150 Hz. Shock resistance is 15 gn for 11 ms. Pollution degree 2 covers most industrial environments.
