Safe logic CPU for Modicon TM5
This is the safety logic controller for the Modicon TM5 family, part number TM5CSLC100FS. It runs a 266 MHz Intel XScale processor, has a 1 ms cycle time, and supports up to 20 safety nodes over two SERCOS III Ethernet ports with built-in two-port switch. Rated for 24 VDC input with -15 to +20% tolerance, it draws 5.1 W. The real-time clock uses non-volatile memory, and the housing is fanless – convection cooled.
SIL 3 and PL e safety integrity
Safety ratings are SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and IEC 62061, and PL e per EN 13849-1. The safety reliability data shows PFH below 1E-9, PFD below 1E-5, and MTTFd over 100 years. Panel installation: cooling and temperature
Mounting orientation matters for ambient temperature range. Vertical installation allows 0 to 45 °C; horizontal installation extends that to 0 to 55 °C. The unit is fanless, so ensure airflow around it – no forced cooling needed. Dimensions are 3.9 in H x 3.4 in W x 3.0 in D (99 x 87.5 x 75 mm). Protection is IP20; keep it inside a clean enclosure. Operating altitude to 2000 m, humidity 5-95% non-condensing. Cable distances between stations: 100 m (328.08 ft) max. Reverse polarity protection and non-interchangeable integrated fuse are included.
