Safety logic CPU for distributed SERCOS III rings
The TM5CSLC300FS is the safe logic controller within the Modicon TM5 range, handling safety-oriented control over a SERCOS III ring at 100 Mbit/s full duplex. It supports up to 20 safety nodes, each communicating on the same fiber ring, with a maximum cable distance of 100 m between stations. Rated SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and IEC 62061, PL e category 4 per ISO 13849-1. The safety reliability data shows PFD < 1E-5, PFH < 1E-9, and MTTFd > 100 years, which covers the typical demands for high-risk process and machinery safety loops. The controller draws 4.3 W from the backplane, runs fanless, and is IP20-rated. It mounts in a standard TM5 bus assembly; its envelope measures 75 mm deep, 62.5 mm wide, and 99 mm high.
Integration and environmental limits
Two shielded RJ45 ports are provided for the SERCOS III ring in and out; a memory key slot for configuration backup sits on the front face. Local diagnostics include six LEDs covering application run, debug mode, authorization, configuration, firmware, boot status, and memory key status. Operating temperature: 0 to 55 °C when mounted horizontally, 0 to 45 °C for vertical installation. Storage range is -25 to 70 °C. Relative humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing. Maximum altitude 2000 m. Input protection is via a non-replaceable integrated fuse; reverse polarity protection is included. The controller complies with CE, EN 13849-1, IEC 61131-2, IEC 61508, IEC 61511, and IEC 62061.
