It reduces measurement error to <0.04 %FS (vs <0.08 %FS), sampling to 50 µs (vs 300 µs), resolution to 305.176 µV (voltage) / 610.352 nA (current), and temperature coefficient to 0.01 %FS/°C (vs 0.015 %FS/°C). If sampling faster than 300 µs or measurement error below 0.08 %FS is needed, choose the TM5SAO4H. Otherwise the TM5SAO4L suits, and both are active.
Panel Fit & Wiring
At 12.5 mm wide, the TM5SAO4L consumes minimal DIN rail space — four of these fit in 50 mm. Depth 75 mm leaves clearance for front-access wiring on the spring-cage terminals. Use shielded cable for the analog outputs as noted in the spec; ground the shield at the TM5 bus end to keep VFD noise off the signal. Each output can be independently configured as 0-20 mA or ±10 V. Current output must see a load between 200 and 500 Ohm; voltage output sees typically >10 kOhm. The module does not supply loop power — it’s a sourcing current output, so the loop must have its own supply if the load is passive (like an HART positioner). The green/red power LED and yellow output LEDs give quick visual status during commissioning.
