The TM5SDI20DFS is a safety-rated DC discrete input module from the Modicon TM5 family, providing 20 sink-type inputs for monitoring safety devices like E-stops and light curtains in a control system. Each input presents a 9.68 kOhm impedance and the module applies a hardware input filter of up to 150 ms, which debounces the signal before the safety logic sees it — this prevents nuisance trips from contact bounce on mechanical safety switches.
