The TM5SDO16T is a 16-channel source transistor output module for the Modicon TM5 distributed I/O family. It switches loads at 0.5 A per channel with a group common rating of 8 A, and its turn-off response from state 1 to state 0 takes no more than 300 µs. The module draws 56 mA from the 5 V backplane and 40 mA from the 24 V field supply.
Panel fit
At 75 mm deep, 99 mm tall, and just 12.5 mm (0.5 in) wide, it tucks into a tight slot on the DIN rail. IP20 rated, bare-wire connection (1 wire per clamp). The 16 yellow LEDs give instant per-point status; the green/red LED reports field supply health. Rated for shock (15 gn, 11 ms) and vibration (1 gn on DIN rail), and operates in 0 to 2000 m altitude with 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity.
Electrical ratings
Transistor outputs are source logic at 24 V DC (20.4–28.8 V range). Each output sinks 0.5 A continuous, with a peak of 3 A. The common group is limited to 8 A total. Switching frequency reaches 500 Hz resistive. Maximum voltage drop at rated current is under 0.1 V, and leakage when off is 5 µA at 24 V. EMC compliance includes electrostatic discharge (4 kV contact, 8 kV air), radiated immunity (10 V/m 80 MHz–2 GHz), fast transients (1 kV I/O, 2 kV power), and surge (0.5 kV diff mode, 1 kV common mode) per IEC 61000-4-2/3/4/5. Conducted emissions meet CISPR 11.
