The TM5SDO2TFS is a safety-rated DC discrete output module from the Modicon TM5 family – two solid-state source outputs, each rated 0.5 A continuous with a peak capability of 12 A. It switches loads on the 24 V DC control voltage rail, and the outputs are watchdog-monitored for safety logic. It carries SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and IEC 62061, and PL e per EN 13849-1. The safety reliability data shows MTTFd > 100 years, PFD < 1E-5, PFH < 1E-9 – numbers that slot easily into a risk-assessment report without extra derating. The module occupies a single 25 mm wide slot in the TM5 backplane and draws power from the bus.
