What it is
The Schneider TM5SDO4TAFS is a safety-rated DC discrete output module in the Modicon TM5 range. It delivers four solid-state source outputs at 24 V DC, each rated for 2 A continuous (12 A peak per channel).
Ratings that matter
The module is built for safety applications: MTTFd exceeds 100 years, with PFD < 1E-5 and PFH < 1E-9. That supports SIL 2/3 or PL d/e architectures directly — no external safety relays needed for the output bank. Maximum leakage current when off is only 10 µA at 24 V DC, so it won't ghost-load downstream devices. Switching frequency reaches 500 Hz resistive, adequate for valve or indicator drives. Stays operational from -10 to +55 °C (horizontal mounting) or up to +50 °C vertical, with 5–95% RH non-condensing. IP20 enclosure keeps it for cabinet use only.
