Module function and fit
The TM5SE1SC10005 is a Modicon TM5 counter module with one 24 V DC sink input for an absolute encoder (5 V compatible). Counting frequency is 1 MHz with 32-bit resolution, and the maximum cycle time is 2 ms — fast enough for single-axis position tracking in a compact machine. Physical footprint is a standard TM5 slice: 12.5 mm wide (0.5 in), 75 mm deep (3.0 in), 99 mm tall (3.9 in). Mounts on DIN rail with IP20 protection. The module draws 2 mA from the 5 V bus and up to 63 mA from the 24 V I/O supply.
Position vs TM5SE1IC20005
The TM5SE1SC10005 is designed for absolute encoders; the TM5SE1IC20005 handles incremental encoders. Both are 12.5 mm wide TM5 slices with the same backplane power budget, but the input stage and wiring differ. Dropping the SC10005 into a panel wired for an incremental encoder would require rewiring the encoder cable and reconfiguring the logic in the controller — not a mechanical swap.

Environmental limits
Operating temperature: 0 to 55 °C horizontally without derating, up to 60 °C with derating, and 0 to 50 °C vertically. Storage from -25 to 70 °C. Vibration resistance 1 gn (8.4–150 Hz) on DIN rail; shock 15 gn for 11 ms. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 60664.
