4-Channel Thermocouple Input for Precision Temperature
TM5STI4ATCFS is a Modicon TM5 analog input module accepting four thermocouple inputs covering types J, K, N, S, R, C, and T across temperature ranges from -270 °C to 2320 °C depending on type. Resolution is 24 bits with a measurement resolution of 0.1 °C, giving fine temperature granularity for process loops or oven profiling. The module draws 2 mA at 5 V DC and 30 mA at 24 V DC from the backplane, with a total power dissipation of 0.73 W. Isolation between channels and bus is 500 Vrms AC, suitable for industrial environments with moderate common-mode noise.
Compliance documentation includes CE marking, UL 508 listing, IEC 61508 and ISO 13849-1 safety standards, plus IEC 62061, IEC 61511, and EN 50156-1 for burners and safety instrumented systems. The pollution degree is 2, IP20 housing.
Integration and Configuration Notes
DIN-rail mount with 25 mm width, 75 mm depth, and 99 mm height. Vertical installation limits ambient to 0–40 °C; horizontal installation permits 0–55 °C. Input filtering is software-configurable from 1 ms to 66.7 ms, including line-frequency rejection options (16.7 ms, 20 ms, 33.3 ms). Sampling duration varies from 5 ms to 62 ms depending on filter selection and number of active channels. Local signaling includes one green LED for supply, one red LED for supply fault, and six green LEDs for input status. A shielded cable is required for thermocouple wiring to maintain signal integrity.
