The Schneider VW3A46111 is a passive filter designed to reduce current harmonics on Altivar variable speed drives up to 55 kW/75 hp. It sits between the line supply and the drive input, cleaning up the current waveform so the installation meets IEC 61000-3-4, IEC 61000-3-12, and G5/4 harmonic limits. One filter per drive — no sharing across multiple units. Rated 101 A input and 105 A output at 400 V ±10 %, 50 Hz three-phase. That 105 A output rating is the figure to size conductors and upstream protection by — the input side is slightly lower because the filter itself draws magnetising current.
THDI is 10 % on ATV61W, ATV650, ATV630, ATV950, and ATV930; 16 % on ATV61H and ATV71H/W. Residual harmonic current after filtering. Power factor correction is load-dependent: 0.99 at full load, 0.85 at 75 % load, and unity (1.0) at 150 % overload for up to 60 seconds. The filter's 98 % efficiency means 488 W of heat to dump into the enclosure — plan the cabinet ventilation around that, especially if the drive and filter share the same IP20 panel.
This filter is still the current production part for the Altivar range it supports.
