What this filter does for the ATV610 drive
The VW3A46116A is a passive filter sized for a single ATV610 variable speed drive powering a 160 kW / 216 hp motor on a 380-480 V three-phase supply. It knocks input current harmonic distortion down to 10 % THDI — the figure that matters for meeting IEEE 519 or utility-imposed limits without an active front end. One filter per drive, no sharing. Rated for 236 A input and 328 A output, the filter handles the full motor current plus the drive's own draw. The 98 % efficiency means 888 W of thermal losses to vent from the enclosure — plan for that heat load in the panel design.
Mounting and connection
IP20 rated for enclosure mounting — keep it inside a ventilated or cooled cabinet. The power connections use busbars for, L2, L3 and the filtered output (', L2', L3'), accepting up to 150 mm² cable. The DC-link terminals (D1, D2, D3, D1', D2', D3') take up to 35 mm². A separate TS/TS' terminal pair handles the control or earth connection at 0.5-4 mm².
Environmental limits
Operates from -25 °C to 45 °C without current derating. Storage range is -25 °C to 85 °C in original packaging. The 50 Hz supply must stay within ±2 % — outside that, the filter's tuned LC network loses effectiveness.
